Canyon Shorts Film Festival
featuring full length film Schism

  The mission of the Canyon Shorts Film Festival is to educate the youth on digital content creation, show the world State College has film talent and show State College a world of film talent.
  You can enter your film by preparing a data DVD of your short film (up to 20 minutes & original music required), buying a ticket to the Canyon Shorts Film Festival for July 3rd and July 11 and mailing your data DVD & your Canyon Shorts Film Festival Entry Form, found on the website, to Canyon Casting, 251 Easterly Parkway, State College, Pa 16801.

  The judging will be based on a system of assigning points in the following categories: acting, editing, direction, writing, cinematography and sound editing. Winners will be determined by point totals and awards will be given out July 11 after the festival.
  “Schism” is the story of one man's descent into Alzheimer's dementia. After a hip injury, Neil Woodard enters a nursing facility unhappy with the changes occurring in his life.  Initially uncooperative and insistent that he will return home once he recovers, he deals with the reality of no longer being a priority in his family’s life. He soon discovers comfort and friendship in the residents and staff but he soon learns that all may not be as it seems.
